This page explains how VPL, proizvodnja, trgovina in storitve, d.o.o. (hereinafter: the company) uses cookies and similar technologies on the website nova.vpl.si and what options you have for managing them. This information supplements the Privacy Policy and the cookie notice (cookie banner) displayed on your first visit.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that your browser stores on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember certain information (e.g. language, security tokens, consent settings) or to measure visits at an aggregated level. In addition to classic cookies, similar technologies such as browser local storage or tracking pixels may be used where they serve the same or a similar purpose.
Why do we use cookies?
We use cookies to:
- ensure basic operation and security of the website (e.g. session management, protection against misuse);
- save your settings (e.g. language choice, cookie consent preferences);
- analyse visits in anonymised or aggregated form to improve content and usability, where this is in line with your consent or legal exceptions.
What cookie categories do we distinguish?
We classify cookies into the following categories:
-
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the website to function and enable its operation (e.g. security, session management, basic form functions). Without them, certain features may not be available or the website may not work properly. For these cookies, the law often does not require consent because they rely on legitimate interest or are necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested. -
Functional cookies
These store choices that improve the user experience (e.g. language, display of certain content). Their use depends on context; where consent is required, you can provide it in the cookie settings. -
Analytics / statistical cookies
These enable collection of information on how visitors use the website (e.g. number of visits, popular pages, time on page). We aim to process data in a way that minimises impact on privacy (e.g. by limiting identification, aggregation). Where consent is required for such processing, these cookies are activated only after your choice. -
Marketing cookies (if used)
These are used to display more relevant content or measure advertising effectiveness. If the company does not use such cookies, this category will not be active. If we include them in the future, this will be clearly stated in the cookie settings and will require consent.
Cookie duration (session and persistent)
Some cookies apply only for the duration of browsing (session cookies) and are deleted when you close the browser. Others remain stored for a defined period (persistent cookies) so the website can remember your settings on return visits. The specific validity period depends on the individual cookie and provider.
Third parties and tools
If we use third-party tools (e.g. analytics, plugins, videos), those providers may in certain cases set their own cookies or process data on their own behalf. In such cases, their terms and privacy policies also apply; the company ensures that tools used are selected carefully and in accordance with applicable legislation.
How to manage cookies
You can set or change your consent preferences in several ways:
- via the cookie notice (cookie banner) on the website, where you can choose permitted categories;
- in your browser settings, where you can block, delete or restrict cookies;
- via third-party provider tools where available (e.g. analytics settings with the provider).
Please note that completely rejecting all cookies may affect the functioning of some website features (e.g. saving consent preferences, form operation).
Link to the privacy policy
A more detailed description of personal data processing, your rights and the controller's contact details is available on the Privacy Policy page. For cookies that involve processing of personal data, the same principles and rights apply as described there.
Changes to this policy
We may update this text from time to time to reflect changes in cookies used, tools or legislation. We recommend that you revisit this page periodically.
